fuzzy was zzy..

n wardrobes all over Britain, there are fluffy boots just itching for their first outing, and with temperatures set to drop as we move into October, it looks like there time in the sun (or should that be rain?) is coming very soon. Furry boots are everywhere, and it's the ethical, affordable sort we're interested in round here.
Pictured above, Shoewawa's favourite fun-fur boots for the autumn period are as follows:
1. 'Egor' knee-length faux-fur trimmed boots in brown or grey, £125 at Office
2. Dune faux fur-collar crepe wedge boots, £90 at ASOS
3. Black patent and faux-fur shoe boots, £55 at Miss Selfridge
4. Leather faux-fur wedges; £69.99 at New Look
5. Rocket Dog 'Gear'; £57 at
6. ASOS Autograph faux fur cuff lace-up boots; £55 at ASOS

THIS SEASON'S HOTTEST TREND IS FASHION WITH COMPASSION
Just when you thought real fur had gone the way of the Corvair, fashionistas have started donning real pelts again. What's an animal-loving yet style-conscious person to do?
Rather than lecture or protest, what if we gave those fashion slaves a better alternative? Today's faux fur is remarkably similar to the real thing. Thanks to inventive technology, it has evolved from cheesy fake fuzz into a soft, luxurious material. In fact, this year's faux fur is the focus of many top designer collections, including Guess, DKNY and BCBG by Max Azria.Here's a peek at this season's best faux fur clothing and accessories. With so many stylish choices out there, we're sure you'll find a piece or two that will become a fashion staple in your wardrobe. And while you're at it, think about shunning leather during your shopping sprees; it's just fur without the fluff.
Gotcha CoveredIn 1997, Hat Attack and Todd Oldham teamed up to create faux fur hats to benefit PETA. This season, Hat Attack has come out with its own chic line of Mongolian synthetic fur items, including handbags and this stylish flat (left; $45). (800) 982-1569
Warm Cool
The problem with winter coats is that the ones that keep you warm aren't very cool and the ones that look cool don't keep you warm. Anthropologie has a stylish solution with its plush Faux Fur Coat (left; $148) As warm and soft as the real thing, this acrylic and polyester coat is cross-dyed in olive and orange to create an opalescent effect. It's also fully lined and cut to fit like a classic barn jacket. (800) 543-1039;
